MANUFACTURING APPLICATION

This market segment accounts for approximately 48% of the nSTRATA™ business internationally. Evenly divided into two catagories, 50% of this business is done by simply integrating existing nCOAT™ and mCOAT™ formulations into a new customers process, while the other half of this segment involves the custom turnkey development and industrial-scale supply of a customer specific multi-functional coating materials. Technology platforms can be modified to meet unique project specific requirements.

  • Multi-functional properties selection. The majority of nSTRATA custom coating projects include the creation or modification of multi-functional organosilane platforms with hydrophobic/hydrophilic, oleophobic/oleophilic, antimicrobial, anti-corrosion and/or flame-resistant properties. Capabilities also include the incorporation or functionalized nano-materials into ‘traditional’ coating polymers or resins.

  • Homogenous dispersion of layer forming and/or active ingredients. Executed through the quantitative evaluation of various dilution rates, on customer specific substrates and in accordance with their own unique performance targets.

  • Surface coating structure and morphology. Quantitatively and qualitatively evaluated through third party collaboration of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX) - of customer provided substrates.

  • Uniform functional property performance. nSTRATA works with manufacturers to develop and implement post-commercialization, industrial scale quality control measures.

  • Cost efficiency and optimization. Technology development and integration costs are identified, closely monitored as part of the collaborative nDUSTRIALIZE Program. Additionally, nSTRATA often plays on on-going partnership role in the monitoring of product used on-site by monitoring active material content in industrial dip tanks, spray booths and other injection systems.
